Jesus Statue in Burake

Standing high on Buntu Burake hill,  this Tana Toraja icon with its 40 m tall, is the tallest Jesus statue in the world after the one in Polandia which is 52,5 m tall.

Funeral Ritual

Uniquely, to the Torajans, death has always been a central theme, where in addition to the well-known elaborate funeral ceremonies, Torajans also honor the deceased by carving out the likeness of the dead, known as Tau-tau.

Tongkonan

Tongkonan is the traditional ancestral house, or rumah adat of the Torajan people, in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Tongkonan have a distinguishing boat-shaped and oversized saddleback roof.

Tana Beru

Tana Beru is famous as a place for shipbuilding or traditional boat making. You will feel amazed at the expertise of the community that makes a traditional boat with traditional wood construction and traditional equipment. They were able to make the boat very sturdy and stately just based on the experience and knowledge that acquired from their ancestors, without using images or written literature.

Batu Tumonga

There is no better place in Toraja to experience the beauty of nature than Batutumonga. Batutumonga offers relaxing ambiance, cool temperature, and beautiful views.  It is the perfect place to visit, sit, relax and drink a warm cup of Tana Torajan coffee.

Sengkang

Sengkang is a town in South Sulawesi province of Indonesia and it is the seat of Wajo Regency. It lies on the east side of Lake Tempe, a shallow lake fringed by wetlands with traditional floating houses and a large population of wonderful birdlife.

Taka Bonerate

The pristine beach, the hidden gem, the third largest atoll in the world. Not so popular yet. Like what I said earlier – a hidden gem in South Sulawesi.
