Misool Island

INTRODUCTION

Misool Island is a remote, tropical hideaway, one of four largest islands in the Raja Ampat archipelago, world renowned dive destination in the province of West Papua. Located off the west coast of the main island of Papua, directly bordering the Seram Sea, the waters are a veritable traffic lane for many large sea creatures, including whales.

The crystal clear turquoise sea waters allow spectacular views of Misool’s sub-surface colorful treasures even when still aboard your boat. The sea gardens of Raja Ampat hold 75 percent of all known species of corals and ornamental fish in the world, and boast the highest level of marine biodiversity on the planet.

Activities

Snorkeling

Raja Ampat is home to the world’s richest reefs. Located at the heart of the Coral Triangle, the region sprawls over 180,000 square kilometers and boasts the majority of the world’s reef-building corals. Raja Ampat also has over 700 species of mollusks and 1,200 species of fish, makes it one of the best places to dive or snorkel.

Dapunlol Peak

Harfat Jaya Peak or Dapunlol, that’s how the locals call it. The location is suitable for hiking, sightseeing, and photography. It also offers various types of natural attractions like karsts, flora, lagoon, etc.

Banos Beach

Banos Beach offers different types of beauty. Feel the warm sand and cozy wind. Near to the seashore, there are several karst coral reefs, which are covered by bushes and trees.

Namlol

The vast ocean and calm waves never cease to amaze tourists. The beach is suitable for sightseeing and nautical observation. It is even possible to get in the water and feel its freshness.

Balbulol

The best attraction in Balbulol Lagoon is definitely the karsts. These natural attractions look majestic and unique. There are only two major karsts, which become the prime lure of the lagoon.
