East Java, the rugged Indonesian province, includes the eastern part of Java plus Madura and some smaller islands. It’s known for its volcanoes, including active Mt. Bromo, part of the vast Tengger Massif that falls within Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Rising from the vast Sea of Sand plain, Bromo affords dramatic crater views and stellar viewpoints over the surrounding countryside
Located some 4 hours drive from Surabaya, the capital of East Java, Mount Bromo is a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park that covers a massive area of 800 square km. While it may be small when measured against other volcanoes in Indonesia, the magnificent Mt Bromo will not disappoint with its spectacular views and dramatic landscapes. At 2,392 meters tall, Mt Bromo is not among the tallest of Indonesia’s mountains but its stunning beauty lies in its incredible setting.
Baluran National Park
In stark contrast to the lush green scenery found elsewhere on the island of Java, the Baluran National Park, located on the east-most edge of Java, consists predominantly of open savannahs, where wildlife roam free
Not yet a famous beach. It takes 2 hours driving from centre of banyuwangi and still one area with Meru Betiri National Park.
Rafting at Pekalen River
Feel the rush as we raft along the Pekalen River with a breathtaking waterfall view.
Just off the northwest coast of Bali lies Menjangan island. This tiny island is situated in the protected marine reserve of the Bali Barat National Park.
Ijen plateau or known as ‘Kawah Ijen’ is highly recommended to mountain buffs and hikers. The Plateau was at one time a huge active crater, 134 sq km in area. Ijen is a quiet but active volcano, and the landscape is dominated by the volcanic cones of Ijen (2,368 asl) and Merapi (2,800 asl) on the northeastern edge of the Plateau, and Raung (3,332 asl) on the southwest corner. The vent is a source of sulfur and collectors work here, making the trek up to the crater and down to the lake every day.
